The day of Elderly National (HLUN) is one important day in Indonesia which is celebrated every

29 May, as a form of concern and respect for the elderly. The government until now only pay attention to the neglected elderly and poor. The number of elderly people in Indonesia every year increase, calculated up to 23 million people this year.
To commemorate the day of Elderly National, in this year (2011), "Wreda and Prosperous Foundation" (YWS), Bali, working with "Suryani Institute for Mental Health" (SIMH) celebrate Elderly National, inviting 1,000 people aged from around Bali which was held on May 28, 2011 at Wantilan DPRD Bali, Renon

Health Problems in Old Age

Date of births : 71 years old, born in the village Juhar-Karo, North Sumatra. Currently living in Medan. He's old friends, to meet at a family wedding in Denpasar. We have 30 years more is not met.
Years in power: He worked as a civil servant at the local water company.
Progeny: He has 4 children, three girls and one boy, and had 5 grandchildren.The four children completed college education.
Health Status: A few years ago suffered from diabetes, hypertension, high cholestrol and whole body was swollen. With traditional medicine and medicine from the doctor, his health to be good again. Because he suffers from diseases of the colon that must be in operation so that the bowel must be through an artificial anus in the abdomen. Doctors said that the situation could return to its original place, but he did not want to do.
Next in line: He is enjoying retirement and has no steady job. He was with the children and grandchildren enough to feel happy

Date of births : 1 Mei 1932. She currently resides in Denpasar.
Years in power: She was a homemaker, joined her husband who died in 1990. After her husband die she was with child struggling to fight to stay to live well. Her husband is retired from Military Police Corps.
Progeny: She has 8 children and 17 grandchildren.
Health Status: She suffered from high blood pressure and rheumatism. To maintain her health, every month she went to the geriatric clinic. In advanced age she has a good physical condition although some of her colon was removed by surgery.
Next in line : She's living life with resignation to God and to rejoice with the children and grandchildren.

Date of births : Born in the city of Singaraja, Buleleng District on April 14, 1955 and now lives in Denpasar. His wife retired from Sanglah Hospital
Years in power: He worked in private enterprise. In 2001 and 2005 due to the bombing in Kuta and Jimbaran in Bali where the company is working to close.
Progeny: He has two sons and one daughter. Both sons are married and not yet her daughter was still a student in high school. She has 3 grandchildren.
Health Status: Since 4 years ago he suffered from high blood pressure. After obtaining a medical examination and drug from Dokter the blood pressure to be good. Doctors recommend eat a medicine every day.
Next in line : After stopping the private company he tried to export the Vespa Used after repairs but does not go smoothly. While he's thinking about other business grandchildren watch at home.

Decreased endurance in elderly

Date of births: Born in Yogyakarta in 1944 and because he was married to ethnic Menado he chose a place to stay in Denpasar Bali

Years in power: He worked at Hotel Sanur Beach Bali as one of the Head of Department until retiring in 1999. After he had retired he became an executive consultant at Hotel Santika until 2010.
Progeny: He has two children, sons and daughters and 3 grandchildren. His daughter is married to Filipinos living in Jimbaran and his son working in Jakarta.
Health status: He believes in an already advanced age there is always a disease, like high cholestrol, high uric acid and high blood pressure. He's every month consult with the doctor to find out quickly if there is disease.
Next in line:He ceased to be a consultant at Hotel Santika in 2010. The activities every day just to keep grandson so he often stayed at his nephew's house even though he has his own home.
