Date of births : October 10, 1940. was born on Karo,lived in Medan.

Years in power : an army with the beginning sergent. Followed education several times to become the officer. The last task was the officer of inteligen and before he retired was assigned as the chief of supervisor to PTP.

Progeny : 2 son, 3 daughter, and 6 grandchildren.The youngest child did not yet marry.

Health status :
He had the problem of the heart constriction coroner. To maintain the location of the constriction must be checked with catheter. Every time catherisasi wanted to be done, his blood pressure rose so as still could not be carried out. If he was tired he was crowded and felt really sick.

Next in line : After he the pension he built the room cost in his house and developed relations with the friend who still active as well to attend the party invitation of the tradition.

Years in power: The rice farmer and coffee.
Progeny: 7 children, 21 grandchildren. Be married not with one ethnic group.
Health status: healthy, there was no illness complaint that serious, although
the age has been old.
Next in line: Continue To as the farmer. The cost of living was partly helped by the child. He hoped the child did not forget his origin from the ethnic group karo although was apart from the Karo Regency and married the other ethnic group.

Years in power : The supervisor of several senior high schools in the Official Education of North Sumatera.He has retired on 1994.
Progeny:
1 son, 1 daughter, and 3 grandchildren. The son in law had printing business and his daughter as a housewife.

Health status: He has had the problem of the high uric acid since he was active as controler.He often consultation with the dokter but not really recovered. His ankle and sole of the foot were swelling and sick so he could not use his shoes. Because of that he suffered elephantiasis made him difficulty walking.

Next in line: Underwent the life by bringing closer himself to the Lord. Guarded and played with the grandchild. He often took the activity interior in connection with the customs and traditions. For example the marriage ceremony or the funeral of the old person. To do that he was taken by the child or the son-in-law. He could not sit cross-legged must on the seat

Gratitude Expression


Mrs Njarumi Sebayang 72, came from Perbesi Village,Karo Regency, and now lived in Medan.. In June every year the community carried out the party was finished the harvest and the beginning of the season planted. In this party the family gathered to send the happy feeling and eat together. The community visited each other to strengthen the friendship and enjoy the serving that has prepared. This party took place 3 days, the first day prepared the foodstuff including beef or baccon, the second day was peak of celebration and the third day enjoyed the cake that was made from the yield each family. In this celebration she and her family were present gathering with the relative. He had 5 children and 12 grandchildren. The activity every day did masage from house to house and this work was regarded as sport. Her health was good, only suffered hypotensi. And by the doctor was suggested ate delicious food as medical treatment.

The Main Helper


Mrs Jeneng Sembiring 67 (left), lived in Medan. She was retired from Health Departement. Her husband died in 1996, she was sad for one year and did not know what to do, only cry and want to go to the husband cemetery .The family's suggestion went with the team of the prayer in the Foundation of Sola Gratia Medan, there had the activity and could be sharing to the friend and to the Lord. He tried to follow the family's suggestion with the guidance of the clergyman. The sadness gradually was restored with the prayer together and the illness reumatc, hypertension to recovered.

She had 4 children and 4 grandchildren. One of her children died after finished graduation.She felt very sad, but the team of the prayer could help and he stayed strong accepted the disaster. With the prayer all of them possibly. She proved by including her child joined the employ testing for the Forestry Service. Participants in the testing 300 people that was needed only 10. One of the 10 people were her son. Her child was received in the Forestry Service only joined the testing, his career was good, but after he was not frightened to the Lord, the position was lost.

Hope Before Dying

Nawar Surbakti 82, a vegetables farmer in the village of Rajaberneh, Karo Regency. The location of this Village was in the foot of Sibayak Mountain. The hot spring available in this village contained sulphur, good used for maintained the health, so as many communities visited to this village to bathe at sulphur water. He himself builded pond of the fish co-operated with his youngest child. Anyone who wanted to fish to this pond paid IDR.25.000 and the catch must be paid IDR.20.000 per kg and the fish could be brought came home or direct in fried to be eaten He was healthy and liked to go hunting the wild animal on the mountain. He had 8 child,32 the grandchild and 14 great-grandchilds. He lived submitted and hoped before Allah ended his life he wanted to witness the marriage of the biggest great-grandchild.

Life Experience


Mrs Rudang Ginting 96, a traditional Karonese cloth trader, who at this time lived with her youngest child in Kabanjahe. The daughter of her youngest child continued trade efforts by establishing the factory wove traditional Karonese cloth. When we visited to her show room,she sat cheerful and looked healthy observed the visitor. Her child let know that her mother had the disturbance of nerves so as occasionally he was just quiet.
We sat together and she related concerning the living experience, she said many sufferings in the age of the old age, disease came in turns and the maintenance cost of the doctor really expensive.Because of that all the asset was sold to buy medicine. Suffering was made the exercise for herself and was the opportunity to become the witness for the other person to undergo the life. She was happy to have 10 children ,30 grandchildren and forgot how many great-grandchilds, could live healthy and harmonious. She hoped too much should not suffer before returning to the origin.

Live As A Farmer

Sada Ukur Sinuraya (left) 80, was a candlenuts farmer that energis lived in Sarinembah Village, Karo Regency. In the age of eighty he and his wife still could manage 1,5 Ha the candlenuts garden. We met in the burial of the wife of Daulat Ginting in the Village Sarinembah.He embraced me because already 20 years had not met. He was cheerful and healthy did not have the disturbance of the illness that serious although the age already 80 years. They went to the candlenuts garden every day to see and gathered candlenuts which fell and the activity was meant to be regarded as sport. He had 5 children, 27 grandchildren and 14 great grandchild. All of his children could have lived independent. The production of candlenuts with the unstable price still could be making his life happy and could be gathering with the child and the grandchild once a year. His hope as a living farmer did not lack and the child lived harmonious.

Grateful To The Lord


Selamat Tarigan 75, lived in Medan. He had 3 children and 5 grandchildren. His three children have had the house and the income so as they could live independent. He and his wife agreed to hire out several rooms from his house in order to have the friend and addition of the income. He had the chocolate garden 2 Ha which managed by the other people with the profit-sharing. If has been in the garden he felt happy and forgot all the problems. He had good health, there was no illness complaint although the age has been old. He was very rejoicing in living because the Lord's blessing was so big to his family.
