To Walk On Life

Sargah 72 right, from Sabu, Sabu District,East Nusa Tenggara, has three merried and independent children and all of children have completed their education in University.He has three grandchildren. He was retired officer of Social Departement and chose to live in Denpasar Bali.

As a Government's retirement, he has a Health Insurance Card (ASKES). With that card he can consult with the doctor at the Government's Hospital, consumes his medication without any charges. His health is fit enough, after he has done cataract surgery.His daily activities are gardening his own garden, taking care his grandchildren and, active as church Council in Denpasar

Visiting Bali

Klaas Delfsma 64, and his wife Corrie live in Burgh Haamstede-Holland has 3 grandchildren from two son. They came to Bali for holidays and stay in Pradise Plaza Hotel as long as 3 weeks.

I met him on the meeting Rotary Club of Bali Sanur at Grand Bali Beach Hotel and we were talking about his Rotary Club. He is president of Rotary Club of Zierikzee, at Zierikzee, Holland, District 1610.The member of this club are 46 and among of them are two Indonesian.

They go around by rental car to visit some beautiful places and beaches like Tanah Lot, Ubud, Mount Batur Kuta, Nusa Dua ect.

He said Bali’s culture is fantastic, panorama is beautiful and the people is cheerful and pelasant.

His health is relatively good he could control his blood hypertention and high uric acid by taking drug.

Thanks To God

Gede Wayan Suwitera, 77 lives in Baturiti Badung, Regency-Bali. He feels happy of his four daughters who have married and has 10 grandchildren. I met him while waiting for a doctor consultation at geriatric clinic and we were talking about our health.

He has blood hypertention which made him felt down, and currently sick.He has had a problem with his nerve on the neck spinal column and therefore he can not use both of his hand normally.

He is a nurse and retired from Health Department on 1988. Before he gets 60 years old, he likes to play badminton, and after 60 he is doing walking.excercise.

For the time being, he has a health clinic at home and taking care his grandchildren and also attending religious worships ceremony.

Life Pattern

Pakuling 67 lived in Medan, North Sumatera. Works as a post graduate lecturer in Agriculture Faculty of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan. Has five children and 11 grandchildren. Came to Denpasar as a participant for North Sumatera to attend Climate Change Conference in Nusa Dua.

His health is relatively good even though in 2006 had had been cardiac surgery in Penang, Malaysia. His exercise is walking along with his wife.

He lived with his wife and accompanied by a maid. To living his life, he has a rule to have at least 3 best friends to be not lonely. He writes a lot and has a hobby for collecting bags. To tied his family connection he always invited his children and their family to come to his house to grill once a month.

Life Support

Edi Adinata 70 from Bandung, West Java and his wife Anak Agung Putera 67, has three grandchildren from two chidren. After retired from Pertamina he lived in Taman Griya Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Bali. One of his married son with his wife and their child come live together with them. And for him and his wife is a happiness because they will busy to take care of their grandchild.

His health is deteriorated, has prostate and coronary heart and hard to listen. Last November he was fainted and admitted to the emergency for three days and 4 days in recuperation room. Doctor suggested that he should have a sten but he did not agree because of the high cost. He and his wife life now was supported by his son. After released from the hospital, his exercise is walking. To keep his heart healthy, he has to have his medication and for his prostate he drinks herbal mixture.
