Homemaker Lady

Suarsih 66, from Cianjur West Java Province. Born of a soldier family in Ujung Pandang (south Sulawesi) and also married to an army officer. She always accompanied her husband as a homemaker. They have 8 children, two deceased. And they have 20 grandchildren. She was glad and happy as a homemaker and duing her duty to her husband and nurturing and cherished their children. All children already married. And the seventh child live together with her in Denpasar. Her husband last duty was a legislative member in Maumere, Nusa Tenggara Timur Province. She suffered from hypertension and consult to her doctor every month. Her health is keep in shape with good diet and exercising 3-4 times a week.

Difficult But Happy

Prof. IB Rata 69 and his wife Adri 66, we were met in Geriatric policlinic Sanglah Hospital. And while we waited for our turn for consultation with a doctor, we discussed about disease and family.

They were English Lecturer in Udayana University Literature Faculty. As a teacher he was happy and glad could be a Professor. Has 4 children, three married and one still single. He has 10 grandchildren.

He suffered from diabetes and heart stroke. His health is not 100 percent cured. His right leg still hurts and his hands shaking and bothering him when he tried to write. With his age getting older, there's a lot disease bothering while the medical fee is getting higher. His wife suffered from hypertension blood.

Even though earned high ranked in the civil servant strata after the retirement must arrange the life. They are able to enjoy the life happily and recreation and strolling are their regular exercises.

Close to God

Zamhuri 58, a Blue Bird taxi driver for 19 years. Lived in Tangerang and has 4 children of both sexes. To return back to Denpasar he took me with his taxi to the Cengkareng Airport. In June this year, he will retire from his job and will have retirement pension amount of Rp.9.000.000.
He dreamed to be flown on an airplane. After he receiving his pension wages and retirement, he plans to have holiday to Bali with his wife and fly on an airplane and will stay in cheap hotel in Bali. He is relatively healthy only suffer from descending rectum and gout. After his retirement he will continue to drive to take his children to school and devoted his time for his faith. He hoped that when his time arrive to return to God, he will not too suffer.

Getting older is getting more health afflictions

Ibrahim 76, an Army Officer retiree from Jakarta, with 6 children and 19 grandchildren. In his reminiscence during his assignment he decided that one of his favored assignment was as the Indonesia President's guard between 1969 -1980. Then moved to Bali and lastly to Larantuka, Flores a fraught and quiet region from 1987 until his retirement in 1992. After his retirement he chose to live in Denpasar, until his 70th birthday he rarely has serious health problem, after that he caught diabetes but can be treated until he well again, and have a tension and petrified and collapsed for 15-30 minutes, when regained his consciousness everyone peered down him. This condition occurred for one year, until his neurologist cured him. Recently he consulting to geriatric clinic often because his headache, cough and hard to breath. To keep his health he exercising with walk every two days for 3-4 km. He wished for not too suffer health deteriorated before he face the God.

Tour To Bali.

Haji Hairul Alisa otherwise Rusmiati, 66 from Bantur, District Bantur, Malang Regency. I met her at Sukawati and we were talking about family.She joined to travel one night tour to Bali.Her group consist of 60 people included one guide.Rianto, her husband was died at 73 years old in 2005 .She has 9 children, 14 grandchildren,6 great-great parents.
She is quite healthy and her health trouble was only leg sleep which already recovery when she’s walking.She fill her spare time with opened a batik business.Keep her health fit, she fasted in monday and thursday

Spare Time

Roy Simmonds 63, with his wife come from Swiss take holiday for the second times to Bali.During the whole time in Bali they stay at friend’s villa.

They visited tourism destination and they have enjoyed with the beautiful land,
fantastic culture and friendly people.
They said that Balinese is very special people.

Next years they will be back to Bali for holidays.
